We are pleased to announce our Annual Meeting 2025 titled Microbial Connections in One Health: Integrating Human, Animal, and Environmental Health, which will take place on Friday, April 25th, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Amphitheater I of the Guillermo Arbona Building (3rd floor) at the University of Puerto Rico-Medical Sciences Campus in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This event will bring together experts to explore the intricate connections between humans, animals, and the environment through a One Health approach.

Our guest speakers

Brenda Anne Wilson, Ph.D.

Dr. Wilson, a 2023-2025 ASM Distinguished and Waksman Foundation Lecturer, will give an overview of global biosecurity and antibiotic resistance crisis.

El Koury-Medina Award

The El Koury-Medina Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Puerto Rico Society of Microbiologists. Established to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of microbiology, it is awarded every three years to a distinguished current or past member for their exceptional service and dedication.

This year the awardees will be:
